Volunteer overseas with our Trusted Partners Bursary

The University of Manchester’s new Trusted Partners Bursary 2025 Scheme is here to help you take your volunteering dreams overseas! If you’re a full-time undergrad, this bursary can help with some of the costs of volunteering abroad, making it easier for you to gain valuable experience without the financial stress.

Whether you’re looking to boost your skills, build your confidence, or make connections for your career, overseas volunteering can be a game-changer. But we know that these opportunities can be expensive, which is why the University wants to help with travel and accommodation costs when you volunteer with one of their Trusted Partners.

You’re eligible if you’re a full-time student (UK or international), planning to volunteer abroad for personal or professional growth. The bursary doesn’t cover things like food, visas, vaccinations, or living costs, but it can help with flights and where you’ll stay.

The amount you could get depends on your financial situation. For example, students getting the full maintenance loan can apply for up to £1000! If you’re volunteering with specific partners, like Think Pacific in Fiji or Play Action in Uganda, you could get between £600 and £1000.
