As you are making plans for getting to and from campus, please be aware that further planned strike action from some bus companies will be affecting the Bee Network services from Saturday October 18, Thursday October 23 and Friday, October 24. This is following previous strike action that took place through September.
Impact on Services:
- Around two-thirds of Bee Network buses will not operate – A full list of impacted services is available on the dedicated page on the TfGM website and you can use the search function to quickly check if your bus is affected.
We know many of you rely on bus services to and from the Fallowfield area. In particular, the popular 142 service which runs from East Didsbury into Manchester, via the University, will not be running. You can access a journey planner alongside wider information, on the Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) website.
Should you choose to walk or cycle, both routes are straightforward and take approximately 40mins (walking) and 10mins (cycling). Google maps will highlight the simplest route.
If you are making the journey at night you may want to consider taking a taxi, especially if cost-sharing with a group of friends.
Of course, your safety always comes first, so do also be sure to download the SafeZone app, which you can use to call for help 24/7 should you need it, across Fallowfield, Victoria Park and the University campus.
Tram and train services will continue to operate as normal.
