Why getting vaccinated matters

Measles cases are rising nationally and the virus spreads easily. Even brief contact – such as spending 15 minutes in the same room as someone who is infectious – can be enough to catch it. You can also pass measles on before you know you have it.

Many adults are protected, but some may have missed one or both doses of the MMR vaccine. If you’re unsure about your vaccination history, please come along anyway – NHS staff can check for you on the day.

Vaccines available

At these walk-in vaccination clinics, NHS staff can offer:

  • MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) – two doses are needed for full protection
  • HPV vaccine – eligibility can be checked on the day
  • MenACWY vaccine – available up to age 25 if previously missed

Any vaccinations you receive will be added to your NHS record within 24 hours.
