The University of Manchester and Manchester Metropolitan University are offering graduates a joint discount on postgraduate courses.
Alongside each university’s existing discounts, students can apply for a postgraduate course at the other institution and benefit from a reduction in their tuition fees.

The University of Manchester Alumni loyalty discount
This discount is open to:
- The University of Manchester graduates and final-year undergraduate students; and
- Manchester Met graduates and final-year undergraduate students.
You’ll qualify if you:
- Register on a new taught postgraduate course (most courses are eligible; see exceptions on our website).
- Indicate your status as a current student or alumni on the application form.
How it works:
- If you’re eligible for the discount will be applied automatically.
- The Manchester Alumni Loyalty Discount will take the form of a tuition fee discount, which will reduce the amount payable to the University.
- The discount will be applied at the start of each year of tuition.
- It can be combined with loans, bursaries and scholarships.
The discount does not apply to:
- PGCE
- MPhil/MRes (research master’s)
- MSc Adult Nursing
- Programmes jointly awarded with another institution, including Architecture programmes offered jointly with Manchester Met (applications are made to Manchester Met and they’ll assess eligibility for the discount)
- Integrated undergraduate master’s (e.g., MEng, MChem)
- Intercalating medicine PG courses
