As part of the Manchester 2035 strategy consultation, our President and Vice-Chancellor, Duncan Ivison, has highlighted the importance of achieving greater impact, engagement, innovation, and a commitment to excellence in teaching and research over the next decade.
To better meet student expectations, the University’s Teaching, Learning and Students Sub-Group or TLS SG working with our IT services is proposing a new approach to change and innovation in Teaching, Learning, and the Student Experience. This will focus on organising key areas of the student experience into broad themes, including student intake, student administration, student wellbeing and teaching and learning.
What does this mean for our Student Experience Programme?
The Student Experience Programme, is a long-standing programme at the University and has been instrumental in delivering improvements to benefit students, such as the relaunch of the My Manchester portal, which provides self-serve access to tools like My Library, My Financials, and My Bank.
To align with the new approach, the Student Experience Programme is shifting to a series of smaller, agile projects. These projects are at different stages of delivery and will continue enhancing the student experience through 2025 and beyond. Key initiatives include:
- My Manchester
- Assessment and Progression
- Mitigating Circumstances and Extensions
- E-Prog (PGR)
- Student Hubs.
