The Unexpected Financial Needs Fund (previously called the Cost of Living Support Fund) is aimed at students who find themselves unexpectedly in financial hardship. The Fund is open to all students, regardless of year of study, nationality or social background and you don’t need to pay back any money you receive.
The Fund can assist you with living costs you may be struggling to meet whilst studying, including accommodation costs, electricity bills, food shopping, study related costs including placement travel costs.*
Even if you believe that your situation isn’t as serious as some of your peers, if you’re struggling financially, we may be able to offer support.
👉How to apply
The application process for the fund is now fully online. This makes applying simpler, faster, and more convenient!

👉Not sure about applying?

*The Fund cannot assist with payments towards tuition fees and should not be considered as a potential means of funding your studies.
