Further to the Canvas status update we shared on Monday 4 May regarding a cyber security incident, we have now been informed by Instructure, the supplier of Canvas, that data associated with the University of Manchester has been accessed as part of this incident. The data involved may include names, email addresses and user identification numbers of some Canvas…

We are aware of technical issues currently affecting some Canvas submissions. Our IT and Digital teams are actively monitoring the situation and working closely with the supplier.

We have been informed of a cyber security incident by Instructure, the supplier of Canvas. No impact to other University of Manchester systems has been identified and staff and students should continue to use Canvas as normal.
