Shape the University’s digital experience and win £25 

We want to hear from you about what you think of your digital experience at The University of Manchester.   

We have 20 Love2Shop vouchers worth £25 each up for grabs if you take 10 minutes of your time to complete the Jisc Digital Experience Insight survey today. 

Understanding what is working well and what challenges you face will help us make improvements to enhance your digital experience.  

During 2024/25 academic year, nearly 300 of you shared your thoughts on everything from online learning platforms to digital skills recognition.  

What you told us 

  • Convenience is key: A huge majority of you agreed that digital technologies make learning more convenient. 
  • Quality counts: Most of you rated the digital learning environment as good or better. 
  • Recognition matters: You appreciated receiving formal recognition or certification for your digital skills. 
  • Resources that inspire: Many of you found the digital learning resources engaging and motivating. 

You also highlighted lack of consistency when navigating teaching and learning materials: 

“… messy to navigate and hard to keep track of the materials required as well as reading assignments.”

We’re listening and taking action 

Your feedback is already driving change. Here’s what we’ve changed and introduced: 

  • Canvas is hereThe University has switched to Canvas this academic year with a standardised teaching template providing a consistent teaching, learning and student experience.  
  • Jisc Discovery Tool: Want to assess your digital skills? You can do that through the Library’s dedicated resource. 
  • LinkedIn Learning: As one of our students, you get free access to LinkedIn Learning where you can gain certifications to improve your academic skills and boost your employability.  
  • Digital Equity Charter sets the University’s commitment to ensuring all students have equitable access to resources and opportunities. 
  • Student Digital Capabilities Reps: With the SU, these student champions are helping shape how digital skills are taught and supported across courses. 

How your digital experience is improving 

Compared to the academic year 2023/24, more of you feel supported in using your own devices, accessing platforms off-campus, and working effectively with technology. There’s also a rise in how comfortable you feel about how your data is handled.
