Salsa de Cuba (4th)
This Cuban duo started playing over twenty years ago in Havana, now they have teamed up with other Latin American musicians to bring the sounds of Salsa, Bachata and Timba to the northwest of England. Catch them live at Ramona’s; think happy hour, dancing and loads of rum. With limited free tickets, it’s perfect to experience a different night right in Northern Quarter’s heart.

Lewis Capaldi (20th to 21st)
Lewis Capaldi returns to Manchester for two nights at the Co-op Live. After his amazing Glastonbury comeback, this is to be one of the most talked about gigs of the month. Tickets are in high demand, so if you’re wanting to attend you should check it out before it sells out.
The Warehouse Project (September to December)
One of the most iconic nightlife events in Manchester is coming back this September. The Warehouse Project kicks off the season with incredible lineups. Everything techno, house, drum & bass, and more. The events are held at the renowned Depot Mayfield; it’s an unforgettable night out for music lovers.

Manchester City vs Manchester United (14th)
Manchester City will face Manchester United at the Etihad Stadium in of the most anticipated matches of the Premier League season. This clash between the Manchester teams brings plenty of excitement and local rivalry. Whether you’re a passionate supporter or just enjoy match day, it’s the perfect chance to get together with friends and experience the atmosphere around the city. South Manchester ParkRun (Every Saturday)
Saturday reset? Parkrun is a free and friendly 5k takes place every single week at Platt Fields Park. It doesn’t matter if you’re a runner, walker, or just there for the vibes, it is a great way to start your day and meet people. No pressure or entry ticket, just sign up whenever you feel like it.
Maker’s Market (Throughout September)
The Maker’s Market showcases a blend of local artists, performers, and small businesses in lively monthly markets. It’s the perfect spot for a weekend stroll, with everything from handmade crafts and baked goods to unique gifts. Castlefield offers the perfect day to soak in the last bit of summer, whether you’re having a relaxing walk alongside the canal and watching the boats, or treating yourself to a drink or meal at Dukes 92 or The Wharf, both local favourites. Castlefield offers the perfect contrast between Manchester’s industrial roots and lively crowds; it is a great option for sunny afternoons.
Visit the Whitworth Art Gallery and Café
Right on campus, The Whitworth Art Gallery is a peaceful spot for art, coffee, and relaxation. Wander through its inspiring exhibitions and relax in the café with a lovely view of the park, ideal for a study break or slow weekend afternoon.
Hop on the tram and stroll down Beech Road
Escape the city centre and take the tram to Chorlton for a walk down Beech Road. The beautiful street is lined with independent shops, cosy cafés, and leafy green spaces, it’s perfect for a relaxed afternoon out. Don’t forget to stop by Beech Road Park or grab ice cream from a local spot!
