Some students may have experienced problems using SEAtS (our engagement and attendance app) this week. IT Services are investigating these issues.

A lot has been happening on campus – from your new learning environment, revamped facilities in Main Library and you new Students’ Union exec – catch up with all that’s new.

Canvas is now live, replacing Blackboard as the place you’ll find your course materials, submit work, and connect with your studies online – anytime and anywhere.

Essential work is scheduled to take place at 8am to Midday Saturday, 6 September. It is not anticipated that students will experience disruption during this time, but should be aware that this will be an “at risk” period.

An update on IT services and how to check the latest status of systems.

The Campus Solutions Student System will be unavailable for five hours from 1pm to 6pm on Friday, 8 August 2025, so make sure you’ve selected your course units before then – or you can log back on afterwards to continue.

From September, you’ll be able to access online support services. In the meantime, help is always available from your faculty’s eLearning team and through the helpful guidance in the Canvas Student Guide.

We have experienced an issue affecting the following services: My Manchester, Blackboard – this issue is now resolved.

IT Services will be performing planned maintenance on the Campus Solutions student system, which means it will be unavailable from 3pm on Friday 11 April, to 12noon on Monday 14 April, 2025.

The new feature provides all students and researchers with links to university-wide help and support, as well as tailored support and guidance relevant to your programme of study or research.

This week, the newest financial features are available for you to access on My Manchester. My Financials, My Bank and Applicant Finance bring a number of self-serve features – find out more.

You can boost your awareness by completing our Phishing Awareness Training, provided by our cyber security partner Khipu. The course includes a short video, practical tips, and a quiz to test your knowledge.

At approximately 9am on Monday 28 October, IT Services will make a change to the way students sign in to Microsoft 365 services such as Outlook email, Word, OneDrive and Teams, as well as introducing 2-factor authentication to My Manchester.

On Wednesday 9 October, IT Services are performing maintenance which will affect Campus Solutions from 5pm to 8pm. During this time, you may experience disruption.
